Rhodes, the largest of Greece’s Dodecanese islands, is known for its beach resorts, ancient ruins and remnants of its occupation by the Knights of St. John during the Crusades. The city of Rhodes has an Old Town featuring the medieval Street of the Knights and the castlelike Palace of the Grand Masters. Captured by the Ottomans and then held by the Italians, the palace is now a history museum.

One of the most charming destinations on Rhodes island, Seven Springs offers a cool, magical landscape, a real oasis, even in the heat of high summer, a charming retreat in the most lavish of Mediterranean greens.

Water flows out of the springs all year around, which forming a small lake. You get to the lake by walking through a narrow 186m-long tunnel. The lake remains replenished thanks to a dam built by the Italians, in order to provide the nearbyt settlement Kolympia with fresh water.

Don’t miss this great tourist attraction. Lindos: a magnificent acropolis on a imposing rock. Nestling at the foot of a steep rock and beautifully surrounded by the sea lies the traditional settlement of Líndos; on the top of the same rock stands a centuries-old acropolis, proudly overlooking the archipelagos.

The acropolis bears silent witness to Líndos’ glorious past, a major naval power of ancient times which reputedly had a population of 17,000.

In Lindos village you will find the best nightlife of the island, with tourists all over the world. Music for all tastes and many restaurants to eat. A MUST destination for any traveler at Rhodes island!

Monolithos Castle

Ruins

Not far away from Monolithos village, you will find the Ruins of a 15th-century castle built on a cliff with picturesque views of the sea & a nearby cafe.

Why is the Castle of Monolithos important? On top of a huge, 300 feet rock standing above the village, a Venetian Castle was built in 1480 to protect the area from pirates and enemies. The Castle is today ruined but offers great views to the beach of Fourni and the two islets just opposite the coast.

Prasonisi

The Prasonisi peninsula is connected to the hamlet of Macheria by a spit of sand at low tide. Prasonisi Kite Beach is renowned for windsurfing and kiteboarding, and Prasonisi Lighthouse has sunset views. Laid-back surfer bars and rustic tavernas overlook the Aegean Sea, along with water-sports schools and a few hip guesthouses. The remains of temples and fortified towers at nearby Vroulia date from 650 to 550 BC.

One of the few places of the world that offers two different beaches so close to each other. An exotic location, absolutely worths a visit!
